Apple's $95 Million Siri Eavesdropping Settlement: How to File Your Claim
Apple has agreed to pay a whopping $95 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging that its virtual assistant, Siri, illegally recorded and shared users' private conversations. If you own or owned a Siri-enabled device, you might be entitled to a share of this settlement. This article explains how to find out if you're eligible and how to file a claim.
What Happened?
The lawsuit, filed in 2021, claimed that Siri unintentionally activated and recorded private conversations, which were then allegedly shared with third-party businesses for targeted advertising. While Apple denies any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to the settlement to avoid a lengthy and costly legal battle. <

- MacBook

How to File a Claim
Some eligible individuals received an email or postcard with a claim ID and confirmation code. If you received one, use it to submit your claim on the official settlement website If you didn't receive an email or postcard but believe you are eligible, you can still file a claim through the same link by selecting "new claim." You will need to provide your name, address, and proof of purchase.
When Will I Receive My Payment?
The final approval hearing is scheduled for August 1, 2025. If there are no appeals, payments will be processed promptly. You'll be able to choose your payment method (check, e-check, or direct deposit) during the claim process.
